Over the course of our residency at The Pump Reel Access will be developing a host of film and media projects with the local community and the wider constituency.
Our summer work will be to establish ourselves through a series of introductory film and animation sessions making the community aware of who we are and what we do. This will include a launch event, a fun day in Kitts green, participating in The Pump’s summer playscheme and video workshops at Shard End Community Centre.
Our autumn work will be a long-term project with young people creating short films and providing them with the skills to make their own work. We will also be developing an early years photography and film project and organising a series of film screenings aimed at mothers and toddlers and members of the older generation.
We will be looking at film in its many forms and later on in the year going into 2010 we be working on a painting on animation project. It is a way of making films without directly using of a camera. It’s a different approach to animation and is something anyone can get involved with.
Our aim is to inspire the community to get interested in filmmaking and we will be at The Pump if anyone wants to discover more about filmmaking and how to get involved in what we do.
