Tree planting in Erdington
Filed in Dan's Pictures, Eleanor Hoad, Events, erdington, December 16, 2009, 3:58 am by danOn Sunday the 5th December there was an extraordinary amount of tree planting in Erdington ward: first at Kingstanding Leisure Centre coinciding with a tree planting world record attempt; then in Erdington Town town Centre, as the winners of a fruit tree naming competition dug in their saplings in seasonal surroundings.

Who will help to eat the harvest?
Filed in erdington, permaculture, September 28, 2009, 3:55 pm by EleanorAfter a successful harvest I had to decide what to do with all the fruit. I decided to set up a free fruit bowl on reception at Kingstanding Leisure Centre. The damsons soon got eaten followed by apples the next day.

Following a bike research tour of fruit trees recommended by local people on a lovely sunny day, I visited several of the most promising sites to try and harvest some fruit… Just look at the results! Russets, eating and cooking apples, damsons and plums!
